Hollymount Primary School

Beyond the Classroom

"Every young person should experience the world beyond the classroom as an essential part of learning and development, whatever their age, ability and circumstances." (Learning Outside The Classroom Manifesto 2006)

Children of all ages benefit from real life 'hands on' experiences; when they can see, hear, touch and explore the world around them and have opportunities to experience challenge and adventure. They need to find out how what they learn at school relates to their life outside it and the world around them.

School trips

All classes undertake a range of day trips from school to a wide range of cultural and scientific destinations in and around London.  We fully exploit the free travel options available to us, as well as the many London museums that offer free entry to children.  These outings are carefully designed and organised by class teachers to enhance children's learning across the curriculum.
